Confirming dishes

A dish shows to guests only after someone on your team has checked all 14 allergens and pressed "I've checked all 14". Your name and the time are recorded.

Suggestions from AI

When we read your menu, we suggest allergens. Suggestions are a starting point. Check each allergen against your recipes and supplier labels before you confirm.

Checking lots of dishes

"Check dishes" opens one screen with your whole menu down the side, one dish and its 14 allergens in front of you, and a progress bar. To go faster:

  • "Use the suggestions" fills in what the AI spotted, and "Set the rest to Off" marks everything else. Check each row before you confirm.
  • "Same allergens as…" copies a similar dish's allergens into the form. It is not confirmed until you press "I've checked all 14".
  • On a computer, S uses the suggestions and O sets the rest to Off. The up and down arrows move between allergens, and 1, 2 and 3 set that row to Off, Contains or May contain. Enter confirms, and the left and right arrows move between dishes. "Keyboard shortcuts" lists them.
  • "Skip for now" leaves a dish as a draft. Guests don't see a draft until you check all 14.
  • Drag a dish by its handle to move it to another section or reorder it, with a mouse or by touch.

Adding and removing dishes

  • Adding: press "+ Add dishes" on Dishes to create a dish. To put a dish on a menu, open the menu and press "+ Add dishes". A new dish is a draft, and guests don't see it until someone presses "I've checked all 14".
  • Removing: on a menu, press "Reorder" and then "Remove from menu". "Archive dish" on the dish page takes it off every menu, and you can restore it from Archived dishes. A dish that was never confirmed can be removed with "Delete draft".

Changing a confirmed dish

If you edit a confirmed dish's name, description, allergens, "Can be made without" settings or vegan and vegetarian tags, the change is saved as a draft. Guests keep seeing the last confirmed version, marked "Being re-checked · ask staff", until you confirm the dish again.

Monthly re-check

Once a month, Platick asks you to look over each dish and say it is still correct. It takes a few minutes and keeps your record up to date.
