What the allergen options mean

Every one of the 14 allergen rows needs an option before you can press "I've checked all 14".

Option you setWhat you are sayingWhat guests see
OffThe dish doesn't contain this allergen.Nothing for that allergen.
ContainsThe dish contains it."Contains milk"
May containIt might be present, for example from shared equipment."May contain milk, ask staff"
Can be made withoutShown under a row set to Contains. The kitchen can make the dish without it on request. When a guest avoids that allergen, the dish shows in its own group, "Can be made without milk on request", with "Prepared in a kitchen that handles milk. Tell staff before ordering."

What guests see when they filter

Guests tick the allergens they avoid. A dish with none of those allergens marked shows the badge "None declared".

Contains and May contain both stop a dish showing as "None declared" for that allergen. A "Can be made without" dish is never "None declared". It always shows in its own group.

The ⓘ on the allergen menu explains:

None declared means the venue hasn't marked this dish with the allergens you ticked. It doesn't mean free from all traces. Ask staff.

While you change a dish

If you edit a confirmed dish, guests keep seeing the last confirmed version, marked "Being re-checked · ask staff", until you confirm it again.

The line "Always tell staff about your allergy before you order." is printed on every poster and shown on every allergen menu.
